Have you ever wondered who the wealthiest people in the county are? (I have, makes for a more targetted begging letter )

Well, I am listing the top 20 here….

I hardly recognise any of the names and I only know Rod Stewarts as my dad’s house in Epping was next door to his.

I know of Vijay patel, he has a Pharmaceutical company in South Essex, and makes a lot of charitable donations – Vijay, you sound like a decent guy, if ever you need anything delivering, just gimme a call . They have set up Eye camps in India, which is a really worthwhile project, i cannot imagine not being able to read, or see well enough to read.

Of course, we have all heard or Sir Alan Sugar through the best TV reality show – the Apprentice, and the adverts for Great Ormond Street.

Bill Ives I only know of because I once lived in Rainham, and he is the founder of Rainham Steel.

So, scanning the list, it seems the most money resides in the south of the county in Brentwood, Billiericay and Benfleet. That’s some net worth, I wonder how other counties stack up?

Free Trees in Essex

Essex County Council has had a tree initiaive going for some time now, it’s co-ordinated by RCCE who are an independant charity who rural communites to become more sustainable.

Applications I am told can come from business or from Parochial Churches, Parish Councils and Village Halls. It’s not limited to just trees, but bushes, hedging plants and shrubs too.
