Using StumbleUpon… The Essex Girls Guide
March 9, 2009
This weekend with the release on our courier company video, I asked some contacts if they would ’stumble’ the page for me. Not being up on all the social media sites there are, and personally being at least 6 months behind the times, I thought everyone knew about ‘StumbleUpon‘ and used it. The site has 7 million users and I have used it for around a year now.
I said I would write a post, in Essex girl English so that other people can use it too, with ease
OK, so an Essex Girls guide to stumbling around StumbleUpon. All inaccuracies and misconceptions are entirely my own… as always.
1. Get an account at StumbleUpon.
2. Add the firefox plugin for StumbleUpon
Your browser bar will now look like the image below
When you see a website you like, give it the thumbs up ![]()
You may be asked to add a review, this is where you say about what you liked on the site, you add a category and tag it with words about the page you have stumbled. This is a good thing to do, and takes about 30 seconds.
You will also see the Stumble button on the page, press this at your peril! it’s highly addictive
soon you will find many pages on the web that are interesting and informative. If you like them, then give them the thumbs up too.
Stumble helps like minded individuals find interesting content on the web. In the right categories, it will help you drive traffic to websites.
It’s considered bad form to just stumble your own sites, so stumble things you are interested in, articles you read and enjoy and videos….
Happy stumbling and if you get addicted, don’t say I didn’t warn you
Sarah
PS this article is dedicated to my twitter buddies that said… Whats Stumble? you know who you are
